Kep1er’s Mashiro Trained with ITZY Member in JYP Entertainment

Mashiro who was originally from Japan tried various opportunities to pursue her dream to be an idol. Once she passed the 12th annual public audition of JYP Entertainment, this event lead her to become a trainee. She showed incredible talent in the audition which brings her second rank on this annual public audition. So cool! In 2016, Mashiro got training together with Ryujin, Yeji, and Lia for two years in JYP Entertainment. Like all people has been known, now, her trainee mates become a member of ITZY, a successful KPop girl group of the fourth generation. She was said as one of the candidates that could be chosen as members of ITZY, however in the end it’s not happening. Then, Mashiro decided to move on from JYP Entertainment and joined Pledis Entertainment in 2018. Although she wasn’t chosen as the lineup of ITZY, she felt happy to see Ryujin, Yejin, Lia getting debut and fully supporting them.

Mashiro started her career after she joined the Mnet’s survival show, Girls Planet 999 in 2021. Before she joined the survival show, she has signed to 143 Entertainment. She ranked 8 on the final and debuted as a Kep1er member. On the Girls Planet 999, she promoted herself with a motto: “Charming marshmallow from overseas”. This might be one sign that she will make into line-up debut. She ever performed Fiesta by IZ*ONE and Mafia in The Morning by ITZY. Mashiro succeeds to survive until episode 12 and final which brings her into a member of Kep1er.

Kep1er’s Mashiro and Xiaoting Positive COVID-19 Postponed Their Debut

Kep1er was supposed to be debut on December 14, 2021, however, Mashiro and her fellow member, Xiaoting tested positive for COVID-19 which made them postpone their debut. Fortunately, they only showed an asymptomatic of this virus and they fully recovered in a short time. Their agency announced that Mashiro and Xiaoting come back healthy on December 26, 2021.

Debut ‘FIRST IMPACT’ with Kep1er

On January 10, 2022, Sakamoto Mashiro debuted with Choi Yujin, Mashiro, Kim Chaehyun, Kim Dayeon, Ezaki Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, Seo Youngeun, Kang Yeseo, and Xiaoting as Kep1er. They released mini-album FIRST IMPACT with lead track “WA DA DA”. The song is getting hits with more than 38 million views in the first week of its debut. Such a queen!
