Story of “Wake Me Up”
As the songwriter, Natsumi Watanabe was in charge of writing the lyrics for “Wake Me Up” by Twice. The music was composed by Louise Frick Sveen, Albin Nordqvist, and Atsushi Shimada who also worked on the arrangement of the song. Described as an upbeat dance song, the lyrics of “Wake Me Up” want to tell us to never give up in life. Whatever we do, just keep going forward. No matter how hard and difficult the struggles and the obstacles are, do not give up. Instead, you can rest and pause for a moment to gain more energy and spirit. Everything will be okay in the end as long as you keep trying and do your best. If it is not good, then it is not the end. Keep going until you get what you want and the best you can get.
